Once upon a time there were four friends who always had oodles and oodles of fun together. Create a paper bag puppet character to join Bertie and gang in the musical picture books A Picnic in the Sun and A Feast Beneath the Moon!
Step 1: Get inspired!
Read A Picnic in the Sun and its sequel, A Feast Beneath the Moon, for inspiration. Look closely at the different characters in the story. How do they style their hair? What are they wearing?
Step 2: Gather supplies!
Get the craft materials you'll need to make features for your character, such as antlers, freckles, hair, and a snout! You can use tape or glue as adhesive. For the antlers, use twigs or cut them out of construction paper.
Step 3: Create a character
Start with the snout, antlers, and ears! Then add eyes, hair, freckles, and clothes! Let your imagination run wild!
Step 4: Have fun!
